Tournament Rules: Let’s Play!
Here’s the scoop on how we’re rolling:
- Jerseys: Home teams rock dark, away teams go light.
- Benches: Follow the schedule for Home vs. Visitor sides.
- AP Players: Gotta be on the roster and same-tier calibre—fair’s fair!
- Game Setup: Full ice, 5 skaters + 1 goalie per side, big nets, and 3-minute warmups.
- Gameplay: Three 15-minute run-time periods, switching sides each period. Shift on the fly, icings are called, but no offsides. Face-offs happen at goals, penalties, pucks out of play, or goalie covers.
- Penalties: 2 minutes, clock stops, and the player sits even if the other team scores.
- Goal Limit: 5 goals max per player per game (excluding overtime)
- Timeouts: One 30-second breather per game per team.
- Flooding: Ice gets a refresh every two games.
- Refs Rule: On-ice calls are final—no arguing with the stripes!
Tied Up?
- 5-minute sudden-death overtime (goal limit resets to 0).
-
Still tied? 3-player shootout time! Keep going ‘til we’ve got a winner—no repeats until everyone’s shot.

Thank you
It’s frustrating and disappointing watching our U9 “B” team getting killed by the La Broquerie “A” team.
This isn’t the first tournament that they have blown-out this year, but if the organizers are going to let this happen then we are going to pass on this tournament in the future.
It really wouldn’t take much effort to vet the teams online and make sure that they are entered into the proper tier.
Thanks,
Thank you for your concern Marc! The teams were properly vetted. Seasonal standings and game results were submitted and reviewed, so please don’t assume the organizers haven’t done their due diligence. I’d recommend contacting the organizers and inquiring about the process instead to publicly commenting. Better luck next year.
I attended the Arena yesterday and watched some really good performances by all of the players. A couple of the games were a little lopsided. This is going to happen in most tournaments played.Hopefully the kids will remember their experience that they had playing here in Lac du Bonnet. A lot of work has gone into making this tournament the success it is. The Arena looks very inviting as you walk into the lobby with all of the decorations, silent Auction, Loonie stick, 50/50.To all the people and businesses that contributed to this I thank you. The smell of the delicious food being made by Connie herself coming from Our Canteen. The cleanliness of the Arena. Congrats must go out to all the organizers, players, coaches, referees, parents and Arena staff. Without you all ,there wouldn’t be tournaments like this. Win or lose you are all winners in my opinion.
