The sweetest weekend in minor hockey is back! The Lac du Bonnet Lightning U9 3^rd Annual Candy Cup Tournament will take over the Lac du Bonnet Arena from March 6–8, 2026, bringing fast-paced action, community spirit, and plenty of sugary fun for players and families.

This year’s tournament features both a B Bracket and C Bracket, showcasing teams from across the region as they compete for the coveted Candy Cups! With only two spots remaining in the B Bracket and the C Bracket already full with a waitlist, excitement and interest in the event continue to grow.

More Than Just Hockey

The Candy Cup is known for delivering a full weekend experience beyond the on-ice matchups. Families can look forward to a variety of fundraising and interactive activities throughout the tournament, including:

• 50/50 Draws – Your chance to win big while supporting local minor hockey.
• Plinko – A crowd favourite with prizes dropping all weekend long.
• Toonie Stick – Try your luck and cheer as the winning number is revealed.
• Silent Auction – Featuring fantastic local items, gift baskets, and experiences.
• Canteen – Fuel up with snacks, meals, and hot drinks while catching the action.

These activities directly support the Lac du Bonnet Minor Hockey Association, helping provide quality programming for young athletes in our community.

The U9 Candy Cup is more than a tournament—it’s a celebration of teamwork, sportsmanship, and the growing passion for hockey among our young players. Families can expect a fun, welcoming atmosphere filled with Lightning pride and memories that last long after the final buzzer.
